This model has replaced the now obsolete Sure Power Battery Converter Model 12010C00.
The Sure Power Battery Converter is designed to provide 12-volt to 24-volt power conversion for heavy-duty applications. This converter provides a fixed output to power 24-volt loads, directly form a 12-volt source.
The Sure Power (EATON) battery converter can withstand load dump, reverse battery connections, short circuits, and over-temperature faults without damage to the unit. The switched output is implemented using a MOSFET transistor. Due to the MOSFET body diode, the switched output should never be connected to a battery or voltage source.
The Battery Converter's protection circuits include an over voltage monitor for input voltage and over temperature monitor attached the PCB near the internal FET's. Both monitors can shut the converter off until the corresponding out of range condition is corrected.
