Accepted Recycle Services:
Batteries Recycled by Interstate
When you choose Interstate Batteries, your batteries are handled from start to finish in a closed-loop system by Green Standard-certified personnel. These individuals are trained to ensure that batteries are properly and safely transported, stored and packaged, so they can be sent to an approved recycling facility.
What we can accept free:
- Automotive car and truck batteries
- Up to a coffee can size worth of mixed chem
Alkaline, Ni-MH and Ni-CD
- Tool batteries
- All lead-acid batteries

Styrofoam Recycled By DTG
Styrofoam can be hard to recycle luckily our friends at DTG know how to handle it. Material guidelines posted below.
Your material must be:
- Clean
- Dry
- Free of all tape and any labels so it does not contaminate the recycle process.
- Please bag your peanuts separately for drop off
- No contaminated material accepted.
- We will accept any amount, large or small. Sorry, no hot tub covers, please.
To Identify Your Foam:
- Look for the #6 or EPS inside the recycle symbol
- Bend the material – it should break and snap with loose beads

Used Small Medical Devices
About 19 years ago, someone donated some hardly used medical equipment to our founder, Bill Brayer, in the hope that he could find someone else who might need it. Before long, Bill assembled some volunteers and MSHH became a 501 (C)3 non-profit. The idea was to accept used equipment, refurbish it and make it available to others at a greatly reduced price.

*To be accepted for drop-off, PaintCare products must be in their original containers of no larger than 5 gallons in size, must have the original manufacturer’s printed label on the container, and must be covered with a secured lid. We cannot accept open or leaking cans.*

• Art and craft paints
• 2-component coatings
• Roof patch and repair
• Auto and marine paints
• Aerosol paints (spray cans)
• Traffic and road marking paints
• Industrial Maintenance (IM) coatings
• Asphalt, tar and bitumen-based products
• Paint thinners, mineral spirits, solvents
• Paint additives, colorants, tints, resins
• Wood preservatives (containing pesticides)
• Caulking compounds, epoxies, glues, adhesives
• Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) (shop application) paints and finishes
• Containers that are leaking or empty, and containers without the original printed manufacturer’s label are not accepted at retail drop-off sites

- Hand tools and electric tools in working condition.
- We accept working gas-powered equipment drained of gas.
Paper Shredded and Recycled By LeMay Shredding
Load your documents into a secure bin and destroy them on-site and in your presence.
What we can accept for free:
- Up to 2 grocery bags of shreddable paper
- NAID (National Association of Information Destruction) Certified Personnel
- Documents shredded on site. You can witness your documents being destroyed via video monitor.
- All shredded paper is 100% recycled
Appliances & Furniture by Habitat for Humanity
Habitat Stores divert hundreds of tons from landfills each year, accepting hard-to-dispose-of items including new and used furniture, appliances, home décor, tools and surplus building materials.
Appliance Restrictions:
- Electrical appliances must be clean
- 100% working order with no missing parts.
- Dishwashers must be made in 2014 or later and have EPA verification
- All appliances must be less than 10 years old.
Furniture Restrictions:
- No older than 10 years.
- We accept bed frames, head, and footboards.
- Dining tables must have at least 4 matching chairs.
- Sofas and easy chairs as long with no tears, stains, pet hairs, or odors.
Building & Roofing Materials By Habitat for Humanity
Habitat Stores divert hundreds of tons from landfills each year, accepting hard-to-dispose-of items including new and used furniture, appliances, home décor, tools and surplus building materials.
What We Can Accept:
- All types of roofing, such as rolled roofing, metal roofing.
- Bundles of new shingles
- Gutters in full pieces.
- Insulation: Unopened packages only.
- Full and half sheets of plywood, sheetrock, and other sheet goods.
- We accept full lengths of unpainted lumber, decking, and trim over 4 feet long. (Please, no rot, screws, or nails in the lumber.)
- Tile: We accept new tile in the original boxes- must be enough to cover 20 sq. ft.
Hardware & Plumbing Supplies By Habitat for Humanity
Habitat Stores divert hundreds of tons from landfills each year, accepting hard-to-dispose-of items including new and used furniture, appliances, home décor, tools and surplus building materials.
What We Can Accept:
- General household hardware in the original packaging.
- Commercial, and industrial hardware on a case-by-case
basis.
- Clean drain vent and waste pipe over 4 feet long.
- Showers, sinks, tubs (no nicks, scratches, rust, please), and vanities in good, clean condition.
- Clean, low flush (1.6 GPF) toilets with wax ring removed.
Doors, Windows, Paint & Wall Paper By Habitat for Humanity
Habitat Stores divert hundreds of tons from landfills each year, accepting hard-to-dispose-of items including new and used furniture, appliances, home décor, tools and surplus building materials.
What We Can Accept:
- Windows: Double pane vinyl windows of not over 5 feet in either dimension in complete working order.
- Doors: Interior & exterior panel type doors in good condition only. No holes, cracks, rot, mold, or scratches or paint. If with the frame, please remove nails.
- Doors stained by the manufacturer are okay.
- Standard sliding glass doors. *If supplied with the frame, please remove nails.
