U.S. Army Career Bio for Doug Peterson
Doug began his military journey in the Army shortly after high school in February 2000, starting as a 77F1P Airborne fueler stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. His early years saw extensive deployments, including service in Kuwait and Jordan in 2001. Doug’s commitment also took him to Uzbekistan, where he supported Operation Enduring Freedom with intermittent missions in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
In 2004, after transitioning from the regular Army, he joined the Washington State Army National Guard. Almost immediately, he was called for a year-long deployment in Iraq, earning a promotion to Sergeant prior to the mission. Upon returning from Iraq, Doug broadened his expertise by transitioning to the role of a 96U2 Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Operator, undergoing intensive training at Ft. Huachuca, AZ.
