Step 1
If You Encounter Damaged, Defective, or Recalled (DDR) Batteries:
For Damaged / Defective
- Alkaline
- Nickel Cadmium
- Small Sealed Lead Acid
- Nickel Metal Hydride
Place in a clear plastic bag and deposit directly into a battery recycling container.
For Damaged / Defective
- Lithium Metal
- Lithium Ion
Call to request special DDR container for disposal.
Step 2
Arrange safe temporary storage in non-flammable material. Example: sand or kitty litter.
Step 3
Check for recalls. Check manufacturer’s website for recalls, if it has. Follow their instructions.
Step 4
Arrange Safe Drop-Off
We can supply a kit, just contact customer service as soon as possible. Place the battery into the specially protected DDR container for safe and compliant shipment to a recycler.
