16 - 14ga ∼ Pigtail Connector (Nylon) (100 pack)
(16-14ga) Pigtail Terminal Connector
Nylon Insulated - 100 pack
Type: Pigtail Terminal Connector
Wire Size: 16 gauge to 14 gauge
- Insulation: Nylon
In a very short summary Vinyl is cheap, Nylon is better (and more expensive).
Higher-end terminals use nylon insulation which has good dielectric properties and does not out-gas like vinyl - a critical factor in aerospace applications. Furthermore, nylon is resistant to hydrocarbons like gasoline, hydraulic fluids and oils.
- Example of use:
Pigtail wire connectors are very similar to wire nut connectors in that you take the ends of stripped wires and place them within the connector, however; unlike a wire connector, the pigtail connector terminals require you to crimp them once the wires are inserted. These handy little terminal connectors are used in many different electronic fields in which can't allow the risk of the wires coming undone - like in how a wire nut connector relies on the "spring" inside to hold the wires, the Pigtail wire connector terminals rely on the crimp of the user.
